Purpose

This policy explains how we select, produce, review, label, and maintain calculators and educational content.

What we publish

We publish

  • Financial calculators with transparent formulas and documented assumptions.
  • Educational guides explaining financial concepts, products, and decisions.
  • Definitions, examples, FAQs, limitations, and methodology explanations.

We do not publish

  • Personalized financial, tax, legal, lending, investment, or insurance advice.
  • Undisclosed paid recommendations or rankings.
  • Placeholder calculator pages that lack a working method, useful explanation, and reviewed sources.

How content is produced

Regulatory inputs are checked against primary government publications. Financial formulas are documented and tested before publication. Educational pages are written to answer a defined user question, connect to relevant tools, disclose important assumptions, and distinguish facts from estimates.

Search-demand research can help prioritize topics, but a keyword alone is not sufficient reason to publish a page. The page must have a distinct purpose and enough original utility to avoid thin or duplicative content.

Standards we apply

  • Accuracy: Calculations and time-sensitive figures are checked against the most appropriate available primary sources.
  • Transparency: Pages state formulas, assumptions, limitations, effective dates, and source links where applicable.
  • Independence: Commercial relationships do not control calculator formulas or editorial conclusions.
  • Clarity: Results and explanations are written in plain English for a general US audience.
  • Scope honesty: A page states what it can estimate and what it cannot model.
  • Accessibility: Reusable components are designed for keyboard navigation, screen readers, readable contrast, dark mode, and high-contrast mode.

Independence and commercial relationships

US Finance Hub may introduce advertising, sponsorships, or affiliate links in the future. Any paid placement or commercial relationship must be clearly disclosed and visually distinguishable from editorial content. Payment cannot purchase a favorable formula, conclusion, ranking, review, or correction decision.

The current calculator result is not personalized to maximize revenue from a financial provider.

AI-assisted work

Automation and AI tools may assist with research organization, drafting, code generation, testing, and consistency checks. They do not replace source verification, formula validation, editorial review, or accountability for published content. Material facts and regulatory inputs must be checked against primary sources.

Questions about our standards

Use the contact page for editorial questions, accessibility feedback, source updates, or correction requests. Our formula and review process is described in How US Finance Hub Calculators Work.
